Database of Natural Spoken Language for Polish

Solution realized within a scientific project at Adam Mickiewicz University Foundation, Poznań, Poland. The Large Vocabulary Continuous Speech Recognition database architecture and the software for data management was designed and implemented by Polskie Media. The first practical implementation of the database is an Automatic Speech Recognition System developed at Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (Polish Academy of Sciences). The database now contains information for recordings of over 2000 hours of speech together with their phonetic-acoustic description. The client-server architecture enables simultaneous work of a team of people, measurement of the worktime, permissions management, generation of statistics of the speech and text data and work history.

Polish Lexical Database

Solution delivered by Polskie Media for the purpose of a scientific project at Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center (Polish Academy of Sciences). The database architecture covers the most important features of the lexical and syntactic structure of the Polish language. Currently the lexical database contains above 3 million entries together with the multi-level information about the entries and their reciprocal relationships and connections. Additionally, the basic preparations for implementing the semantic model have been introduced into the database structure. We also created Lexicon Editor software: the editor of the Lexical Database in a way that users are now able to add new entries, and to remove or edit the existing entries. An independent functionality of Lexicon Editor is a wordlist import and edition tool, enabling analysis of wordlists, verification of out-of-vocabulary items etc. The Lexicon Editor is integrated with Polphone, the existing tool for automatic phonetic transcription. We extended the functionality of the transcription tool by creating Trans Taggerfor additional features, namely: syllable boundary inserter, and elaborated accentuation rules and accent exception list. The Editor supports multi-worker activities (permissions, work history), including remote access to the system.

You’ve Got Mail

You’ve Got Mail helps you to manage your email account. It displays short info about incoming mail in system tray. You can configure two mail accounts: work and private. You’ve Got Mail is an easy and intuitive tool, characterized by unusual functionality as compared to many other similar applications.

You’ve Got Mail is a highly comfortable and convenient e-mail notifier. The tool launches automatically together with the system’s start up and performs an independent check of your private and business e-mail. If you get a new e-mail message, You’ve Got Mail notifies you about it with a descret baloon-tip beside the clock and blinking icon of You’ve Got Mail in the system’s tray.

Polish Intonation – PoInt

A database programmed for the project leaded by professor Maciej Karpiński at the Institute of Linguistics, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland.

The database contains recordings, texts, and pictures showing intonation patterns, and other prosodic information observed in spontaneous and read Polish speech (both monologues and dialogues). We also created a viewer for the database, making it possible to browse and search through the database for various features.
